East Bay Children’s Law Offices stands in solidarity with the Black community. The murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, in addition to the many other Black men and women who have lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement, are an outrageous affront to our sense of community and our sense of justice. Racism, injustice and systemic oppression must come to an end. And, police brutality must no longer be tolerated. We have had enough. We demand justice and radical change to re-write the laws and systems which uphold racism and white supremacy.

We are acutely aware that forty-five percent of our clients are Black.  On a daily basis, our clients reflect the systemic racism built into our country’s child welfare system where Black children are many times more likely to end up in foster care. And many times more likely to stay in foster care longer.  At EBCLO, we work to make certain that our clients are seen and heard; to make certain children only enter the foster care system if it is the only way to keep them safe; and to reduce the amount of time they spend in foster care. We are committed to helping our clients’ voices become louder and louder.  We support the protection, development and safety of the next generation and will stop at nothing to do the hard work necessary to dismantle oppression.

Black lives matter.

In solidarity,

East Bay Children’s Law Offices
