You know it’s National Foster Care Month, but you don’t know how to get involved? We have broken it down for you!
If you have a few minutes:
- Donate to EBCLO! Starting May 1, there is an extra match when you donate at https://chefgivingcommunity.org/ebclo/.
- Follow EBCLO on Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, and TikTok, and then follow organizations we follow to stay informed. Visit their websites and sign up for their newsletters too!
- Champion legislation that benefits youth aging out of the system by writing a support letter for one of the many bills increasing the rights of youth in care.
If you have a few hours:
- Listen to The Imprint podcast or read their articles focused on the nation’s child welfare and youth justice systems.
- Read as much or as little as you have time for from the Shriver Center on Poverty Law’s child welfare reading list.
- Volunteer to bake cakes for children in foster care with Cakes4Kids!
If you have more time:
- Work at EBCLO! We are hiring a staff attorney at EBCLO!
- Apply to join EBCLO’s Board of Directors or Advisory Board by sending in your resume!
- Volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
- Consider opening your home to a youth as a resource family.
